From Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Jamaica Station

Take the Long Island Rail Road "Hempstead Line" from Penn Station in Manhattan (or from the Flatbush Avenue Station in Brooklyn or from the Jamaica Station in Queens) to the Garden City Station. 

Approaching Garden City, as you look out the southwest facing windows of the train the Cathedral spire will be very visible from the station.  The Cathedral West doors are located at a one and a half (1 1/2) block walk in the Southwesterly direction from the platform.  Being in one of the "last" two cars is most convenient.
