| NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS By Ken Cynar The first ever "Teddy Bear Sunday" was observed on February 14th at Grace Church in Massapequa. And, dozens of multi-color Teddy bears, dogs, cats, rabbits and other stuffed animals had a special place at the altar. The stuffed animals were gathered for a new parish outreach that was initiated by our rector, the Rev. Josh Walters. The animals, donated by Grace Church parishioners, were rightfully blessed during Sunday services and will be given to children in hospitals or to those living in other situations where a fuzzy companion can bring some joy and happiness. Slated to be an annual event on the Sunday nearest Valentine's Day, "Teddy Bear Sunday" is one example of Grace Church's several community outreach efforts.
