Joint Oversight Committee for Calling a Bishop Coadjutor
January 2008 JOC article for The Dominion newspaper

January Report for The Dominion diocesan newspaper
from the Joint Oversight Committee for
calling of a Bishop Co-Adjutor

By the Very Rev. Dr. Glenworth D. Miles,
JOC Information Officer

Pending elections in the archdeaconries of clergy and laity to a "leadership pool" for the election process, the JOC will be naming a "Nominating/Search" Committee.

At a JOC December meeting (which was scheduled to take place after the deadline for this edition of The Dominion) plans to select a consultant and also a Chaplain for the duration of the calling process will be discussed. Having a consultant to guide the process is at the recommendation of the Rt. Rev. F. Clayton Matthews, (national church) Bishop for Pastoral Development.

The JOC is also planning a committee retreat for early in the year.

Members from both the Diocesan Council and the Diocesan Standing Committee comprise the "joint" oversight committee.
