Christ Church, Babylon, teens fast for famine relief

Christ Church, Babylon teens who fasted for famine relief
During the weekend of February 25, eight teens from Christ Episcopal Church in Babylon participated in a Long Island Youth for Christ 30-hour Famine.  Beginning at 1 pm on Friday, February 25, the youth, along with Youth Minister Caroline Marsden and parent Diane DeBlasio, fasted for 30 hours to raise funds, while doing community service projects, participating in fellowship activities, and becoming more aware of the problem of hunger that exists around the world and in our own country.  They were a part of a group of over 125 teens from local churches in the Babylon area.

To date, they have raised over $1700, which will be sent to World Vision, a Christian aid organization.  For each dollar they raised, the federal government will match it with seven dollars to help feed the hungry around the world.
