| NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS On Thursday, July 15, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferst Schori joined in a videoconference "conversation" with the Rev. Tom Brackett, Program Officer for Church Planting and Redevelopment for the Episcopal Church and the Rev. Frank Logue, Canon for Congregational Develpoment for the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia. Numerous participants from across the country who connected to the event via the Internet or phone. A group of 15 gathered at the Mercer School to be part of the videoconference. Others in the diocese, who were part of the conversation either by telephone or their own computers, included Charles Collwell, Bob Griffith and Connie Lorenz. Those at Mercer stayed after the scheduled videoconference to informally continue the conversation. Several participants said they particularly liked viewing the online conference as part of a in-person group experience. They were able to immediately share thoughts and comments about ministry development in this diocese.
