Position: Special Assistant to the Anglican Observer at the UN
Job Description
DUTIES:
· Direct and manage the office and diary of the Anglican Observer.
· Supervise coordination of the office, excel bookkeeping and accounts management.
· Manage Communication from the Observer’s Office to the various bodies of the Anglican Communion, churches, the UN and is agencies, Non Governmental and Governmental bodies.
· Oversee the world of the volunteers and other Staff persons assigned to the Observer Office.
· Draft correspondence, prepare draft reports and conduct research as necessary, in consultation with the Anglican Observer.
· Receive and channel resource and material for the office website.
· Represent the Observer at functions when the Observer is unavailable.
· Receive visitors/dignitaries, manage hospitality/entertainment events for official visitors to the Observer’s office.
· Furnish and obtain information from various organizations or their representatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Arts, Humanities, Social science, Economics, Development and International Studies.
- Experience in top management or International organization is desirable.
- Working knowledge of the United Nations, its member governments, agencies, and structures.
- High diplomatic, written and communication skills. (knowledge of French will be an added advantage).
- Rudimentary knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management.
- General knowledge of the Anglican Communion and its structures.
- Practical knowledge of global development and other issues that are of common concern to the UN and the Communion.
